Responsibilities

The Clinical Vascular Nurse will play a critical role in the vascular care team by overseeing CT orders, scheduling procedures, and managing authorizations. This position requires close collaboration with physicians for patient consultations, diagnostic exams, and angiography procedures. The nurse may also assist in wound care management and be responsible for triaging and responding to patient calls. In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Clinical Nurse will support the medical team in various functions, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining efficiency. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential, as is a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate CT imaging orders and ensure proper scheduling and authorization for procedures.
  • Collaborate directly with physicians to assist in patient consultations, examinations, and angiograms.
  • Provide high-quality wound care management, educating patients on proper care techniques.
  • Handle patient inquiries and calls promptly, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared beforehand.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Play an active role in patient education, ensuring patients understand their conditions and care plans.
  • Contribute to a high-functioning team environment by fostering effective communication and collaboration among healthcare providers.
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities to stay current in vascular nursing practices.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a strong emphasis on clinical practice.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on vascular care preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a high-functioning interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
